How Does It Work?

The Handybar® inserts into the U-shaped striker plate on your vehicle door frame. The U-shaped striker plate is one of the strongest parts of the vehicle and is designed to keep your vehicle door closed in the event of a side-impact collision.

There is a striker on each of the vehicle's door pillars allowing the Handybar® to be used on both driver and passenger side-doors.

The Handybar® is suitable for individuals weighing up to 350 lbs.

Inserting the Handybar Using the Handybar to lift yourself out of a car Reaching for the Handybar
Insert the Handybar® into the
U-shaped striker plate located on the driver and passenger-side door frames of the vehicle.
Once inserted, use the
Handybar® to support your weight as you move yourself in and out of the vehicle.
Remove the Handybar®
before you close the vehicle door.
Ensure your vehicle has two bolts or screws attaching the striker to the door frame. If your vehicle has a light switch in the striker, be sure the Handybar® does not interfere with its operation. Please refer to our Check Fit Guide.
